What is VFX Stock Footage?
VFX Stock footage is specialized video content that has been pre-recorded and edited to provide visual effects for videos, films, games and more. Visual Effects stock footage is generally filmed in front of a black screen or a green screen so that the elements can be isolated from the background and easily incorporated into other footage. Our entire library of VFX stock footage is available in ProRes and Open EXR format at 4k resolution. Our R3D footage remains available in up to 8k resolution.
The vast majority of our source R3D files have a minimum of 4k/UHD resolution. However, some of our older footage was captured with a 2k or 3k resolution in order to achieve higher frame rates. In these cases, we have employed our proprietary image enhancement workflow to create scaled 4k ProRes and EXR files.
